🏠 Decorative & Display (PLA)
Pros: Best fine detail, huge range of colours and finishes, easiest and most affordable to print.
Cons: Low heat resistance - will soften or warp in a hot car or near heaters.
Best for: Display models, figurines, gifts, indoor ornaments, and appearance prototypes.
🧸 Everyday & Toys (PETG)
Pros: Tougher and more impact-resistant than PLA, handles regular knocks and drops well.
Cons: Slightly less crisp detail than PLA on very fine features.
Best for: Toys, everyday household items, and anything that gets picked up and used often.
🔧 Mechanical / Functional (PETG) - IF UNSURE PICK THIS!
Pros: Strong with a slight flex so it resists snapping under load, good chemical resistance.
Cons: Not as rigid as Nylon/Polycarbonate for high-stress mechanical loads.
Best for: Brackets, mounts, jigs, and light-duty functional parts.
☀️ Outdoor & Weather-Exposed (ASA)
Pros: UV-stabilised so it won't fade or go brittle in the sun, handles higher temps, very durable outdoors.
Cons: Slightly more expensive than PLA/PETG. Harder to print (but that's our problem, not yours!).
Best for: Garden gear, car parts, outdoor signage, and anything left in the sun or weather.
🔥 Indoor / High-Heat, Glossy Finish (ABS)
Pros: Handles higher heat than PLA/PETG, glossy finish, affordable, can be smoothed for a premium look.
Cons: Not UV stable - fades and gets brittle outdoors, so indoor/enclosed use only.
Best for: Enclosures near heat sources, glossy display parts, and budget-friendly durable indoor parts.
🍩 Flexible & Rubber-Like (TPU)
Pros: Flexible, squishy, and impact-absorbing - bends and springs back instead of cracking.
Cons: Not suitable for rigid or structural parts (too floppy!).
Best for: Gaskets, seals, grips, phone cases, and vibration dampeners.
⚙️ Heavy-Duty / Engineering (Nylon/Polycarbonate)
Pros: Exceptional strength and durability, high heat resistance, chemical resistant, low surface friction.
Cons: Harder to print and more expensive; can absorb moisture if stored poorly.
Best for: Gears, hinges, load-bearing brackets, and other demanding mechanical parts.

Design, Prototype & Reverse Engineer Quote Request

Need a custom part but don't have the 3D file? Don't worry - we can design it for you. Just send us your physical broken part, a rough sketch, or a cardboard mockup, and we'll give you a clear, upfront quote to model and turn your idea into a perfectly fitted, functional piece. (Note: while a quick photo is great for an initial quote, we'll need to physically measure your item to properly reverse-engineer it.)
