Chris Stewart

Co-Founder | Sales, Marketing & Client Relations

With over a decade of professional experience in project marketing and sales consulting, Chris drives the commercial and operational side of C & J Precision. He and Joel operate as the perfect duo: while Joel focuses entirely on the technical problem-solving and 3D CAD design, Chris handles the people, the marketing, and the business development. He is the vital bridge between a client’s raw idea and the workshop floor.

Chris has been a tinkerer since day one. His love for tech started young, with his favorite pastime being scavenging broken computers from local council pickups, stripping them down, and rebuilding them into working machines. Today, that drive translates directly to additive manufacturing.

For Chris, 3D printing isn't about printing plastic toys; it is about pure functionality. He is driven by projects that solve real-world problems and fill gaps that traditional manufacturing simply can't touch. If you step into his personal study or the workshop, you will immediately spot his personal obsession: custom-printed cable management, storage, and organizational systems covering almost every surface.

Off the Clock

  • The Day Job: Chris balances the workshop with his role as a Sales Consultant for one of Australia’s largest project home builders.

  • Family & Tech: When the printers are finally off, you will find him nerding out on video games, tackling DIY home upgrades, or spending downtime with his wife, Harriet, and their six-year-old daughter, Violet.

  • Workshop Supervisor: Any visit to the shop might include an inspection from Rose, the family’s rescue greyhound, who regularly drops in to ensure her daily quota of pats and scritches has been met by both Chris and Joel.

Joel Guy

Co-Founder | Lead Engineer, CAD Design & Additive Manufacturing

Joel is the technical foundation of C & J Precision. Armed with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, he brings serious expertise to every design challenge.

Alongside his work at the workshop, Joel maintains a demanding career designing solutions for industries where failure isn't an option. His impressive track record includes serving as the Lead Engineer for the NSW Fire + Rescue Aerial Pumper, as well as engineering custom solutions for the defense force, the mining sector, police, and the SES.

For Joel, 3D printing is about taking the impossible and making it work. He thrives on reverse-engineering broken components—fixing the things normal people can’t, and saving clients money in the process. His dedication to getting it right recently earned him an honourable mention for collaboration from the Hunter Manufacturing Awards.

His drive started early with a childhood obsession with cars and motorbikes. That passion eventually led him to become the Chief Engineer for his university racing team, place second in the Australian finals of the Warman Design Competition, and earn a high distinction for his final-year honors project.

Off the Clock

  • Always Tinkering: The engineering brain never really turns off. When he steps away from client CAD models, he is usually designing and printing custom parts for his own projects.

  • The Silent Partner: He happily leaves the sales and business operations to Chris, allowing him to stay 100% focused on design and getting the perfect print.

  • Built to Last: He has zero interest in printing colorful dragons or fidget spinners like a lot of other 3D printing shops. This practical mindset is exactly why C & J Precision was launched with a strict focus on real-world repairs, custom upgrades, and functional print-on-demand solutions.
