C & J Precision Return Policy

1. Australian Consumer Law Guarantees

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

  • To cancel your service contract with us; and

  • To a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion.

2. Custom & Made-to-Order Items (Change of Mind)

Because the majority of our work at C & J Precision involves custom CAD design, reverse engineering, and made-to-order 3D printed or fabricated parts, we do not offer refunds or returns for a "change of mind" or if you ordered the incorrect size/specification based on your own measurements. Once production has begun on a custom order, cancellations cannot be accepted.

3. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your item arrives damaged, is faulty, or does not match the specifications agreed upon in your quote or provided files, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.

  • We will require photos of the defect or damage to assess the issue.

  • If the fault is ours, we will repair, replace, or refund the item at our discretion, including covering the cost of return shipping.

4. How to Request a Return or Fix

To initiate a claim for a faulty or incorrect item, please contact us at cjprecision@outlook.com with your order details, a description of the issue, and clear photographs.

5. Print-on-Demand (Client-Supplied Files)

For our Print on Demand service where you supply the 3D model (such as an .STL or .OBJ file), you are solely responsible for the accuracy, scale, and overall design of the file. We do not offer refunds, returns, or free reprints if the final product does not fit or function as intended due to inherent design flaws, incorrect scaling, or unprintable geometry within the file you provided.

6. Manufacturing Tolerances & Aesthetic Variations

Please be aware that 3D printing (additive manufacturing) and custom fabrication inherently produce distinct finishes. Minor visual characteristics, such as visible layer lines, small surface blemishes, or slight variations in color/texture, are a normal part of the manufacturing process. These aesthetic variations do not constitute a "fault" or "defect" for the purpose of a return or refund, provided the part functions as intended and meets the agreed-upon technical specifications.
